Praise God for how He is working in the lives of so many people. We have completed two weeks of the “How to Pray When…” series. We have looked at “How to Pray When You Need to Let Go” (message on forgiveness) and “How to Pray when you are Under Pressure.” If you missed one of these weeks I encourage you to watch the sermons online. If you are facing any issues with forgiveness or stress download the notes, print them out, and put them somewhere you will see them daily. When we bring the Bible and God’s Truth into our lives it makes a big difference in the monster issues we all face daily! The sad thing is many people try to figure life out without growing spiritually. I pray God will continue using Prairie Heights to help more and more people every week!
A month ago the sermon was on serving and showing our friends Christ, and then inviting them to come with us to church with the goal of them seeing and meeting Jesus. Many people turned in sticky notes with their name and their friend’s name and Prairie Heighters took those sticky notes to pray. THANK YOU for praying. THANK YOU for serving your friends. THANK YOU for inviting those friends. I put 2 sticky notes on the board and last Sunday the person praying for me and my friend came up and asked how it was going and told me he and his wife are praying. Wow, what a priceless gift you gave me, Brad and LeAnn! That was so encouraging. I have had a chance to serve that friend and I know prayer paved the way for our conversation. If you are praying for someone make sure you contact them. If you are serving and inviting, stick with it. You are fully equipped to “be Christ” to someone else if you are a follower of Christ! The church isn’t a building or an institution. We are the church. My role is no more important than yours! If each one of us can positively impact ONE person a year, wow, what a difference this world will be 100 years from now!
We have exciting news to share with you this Sunday regarding The Christmas Offering. Let’s ALL participate so we can celebrate the victory together. It will make a lasting difference in our lives and families if we learn and practice the leadership law of sacrifice in order to lift others.
I post short video blogs on our website and facebook page each week so I encourage you to check them out. Some of the things I share are: memories from Sunday, a leadership lesson, stories of how God is changing people’s lives, or something funny that happened at the Ministry Center.
Happy Thanksgiving! I am so very thankful for each one of you and for our opportunity to serve and impact the world together!! From 2:30 to 3:00pm on Black Friday I will be on 970am WDAY radio talking about charitable giving and The Christmas Offering.
See you on Sunday as I look at “How to Pray When You have Failed.”
