Good morning! Welcome to another day God has given us to bring glory and honor to Him and to build His church!
“Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls YET I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior. The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to go on the heights.” Habakkuk 3:17-19
10 years ago Prairie Heights was started with a dream to LIVE this verse out not just use it as a “church name”. God has now given us 100s of opportunities to share this verse by LIVING it! Last night at the “Praise on the Prairie” praise band concert, 252 Prairie Heighters were blessed to live this verse…to BE the church and to share what God has done in our lives! It was truly a blast and one of the most meaningful nights of my life. All five bands did well and God showed up in a big way! Prairie Heights was blessed to receive the spirit award (yes…we are the church that is the “hyper, get on your feet, cheer for God and all that He means to us, cheer for our band and our church, don’t hold back, you are invited, if you don’t have a church home please stop in, you are part of the “family” church) and also voted Fargo-Moorhead’s top praise band.
Sunday morning Dustin kicked off our March Madness series by sharing with us: TO PLAY ON GOD’S TEAM, I HAVE TO GIVE IT MY ALL! He summarized the message with: “God longs for us to bring Him our best so we can receive His best!” Don’t misunderstand, God isn’t bargaining with us or holding back. But, when our lives are filled with pride or self-sufficiency or fear or mis-trust there isn’t a path or room in our hearts for God to give us His best. Dustin challenged us from God’s Word to give God our best in our relationships, our abilities, our time, and our finances. When a church team does that…WOW, look-out world! We handed out playbooks with devotionals for all 4 weeks of the series so everyone can participate in some focused time with God with their families and friends or by themselves. I pray ALL of us will participate and complete at least one devotional each week. If you have children and you do this, you will be helping your children grow more spiritually than you realize.
I will be sharing another characteristic of God’s team found in Luke chapter 15. If you get a chance read it before Sunday. As part of the sermon this Sunday I am going to give a 15-minute State of PHCC address. I have some exciting news to share with you! I will also share our next 3 operational obstacles we need God’s help with the next 2 years in order to see more changed lives.
Everyone is invited! April 17th. 1,000 people. One service. 10:30am. Lunch afterwards. Bless others in our community through a food and personal items drive. More changed lives. Do your very best to be at PHCC and bring others with you!
See you on Sunday.
