May 16 Parent Connection

Hello Kidventure Families!

In our unit this week “To the Depths” we learned the importance of following through on our words with our actions. Ruth and Naomi in Ruth chapters 1 and 2 are great examples for not just talking about the right thing, but doing it.Our main point is, “I will do the right thing, not just talk about it!” I immediately think about my own words and how well do I follow through on the things I say I will do? Obeying God is much more than just knowing the right thing, but actually doing it! I believe that God calls children and families to be a light and example for others in our community though choosing the right way not just talking about it. James 2:17 reminds us, “In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.James was very clear that true faith is always accompanied by actions that support the things we say we believe in. Our main point, “I will do the right thing, not just talk about it!” As a family talk about what it looks like for you to follow through on your words with your actions!

During our 8 weeks in “To the Depths” we will be on an underwater adventure! We will be diving deep into the book of James to discover how God wants us to live. I encourage families to take some time to read through the book of James during these 8 weeks. Please e-mail me and let me know how God uses it to strengthen your family, I would love to hear about it!

This summer Kidventure (birth through 5th grade) is looking for volunteers (including parents) who would be willing to serve twice on our Summer Relief Crew. At Prairie Heights we like to keep our ministries going strong during the entire summer so we are asking people to help out on the summer relief crew. We are currently looking for Small Group Leaders or Actors to assist with the elementary kids! It’s a great opportunity to serve in your child’s class or just check out what happens in Kidventure. If you’re interested check out this invitation or contact our offices.

Have a great week!
