This week in elementary (K-5th grade), we talked about how important it is to help others, even if we don’t feel like it. Jesus gave us a great example of this in Luke 10:25-37. It’s the story of the Good Samaritan. The Samaritan man had every right to let the Jewish man die. After all, the Jews treated the Samaritans with contempt and disgust. But, the Samaritan chose to show the man kindness. He even went above and beyond by making sure this man was able to fully recover from his injuries. If we are truly seeking to be disciples of Jesus, we need to follow that same example. Jesus asks us to help others and show them love no matter what. He still showed us love when we didn’t deserve it, and so we need to pay it forward.
